My Sense of Place and Thing is photographs based on eleven drawings done by domataphobic (fear of the home) people. These patients were asked to produce these renderings while in treatment for their condition. The drawings’ contents and illustrative qualities were considered for clinical analysis. Here, they have become source material for photographs of ideas around space, tone and absence. The imagery, at one point isolated and singular, is now considered collectively as a series, free to relate or repel as one photograph leads into another.
